These rails are in All Saints, Leighton Buzzard. They are of oak, stained to harmonise with their surroundings. Details of the design are inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. There is an unobtrusive inscription on each rail.
The practicalities of the design have been carefully considered: they are easily moved around; they are stable enough and strong enough to support someone pushing themselves upright; the board along the front (which is needed for stability) is shaped so that it will not trip up anyone administering the chalice.
